Albizu University’s Speech and Language program offers two degrees to help you reach your goal of becoming a specialist in the communication disorders field.

The Bachelor of Science in Speech and Language Therapy, offered at the San Juan campus, prepares students to treat children with communication disorders from birth to age 21. According to Puerto Rican Law #77, which regulates the profession, the speech/language therapist works under the supervision of a licensed speech/language pathologist. The program consists of 120 credits of coursework, which include two clinical practicum experiences in schools and early intervention programs.

The Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology, offered at the San Juan and Miami campuses and the Mayagüez University Center, prepares students to work with children and adults with communication and swallowing disorders as well to serve as a consultant or clinical supervisor. The program consists of 60 credits of coursework, which include two clinical practicum experiences in hospitals, schools, and community-based programs.
