What is the Albizu University Virtual Campus?
Albizu University’s Virtual Campus (CVC) is an online environment developed and operated by the Miami campus and built with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate students with remote access to education and services. The Virtual Campus is a rich and immersive academic environment with 24/7 access to instruction that enables interaction between students and the Miami Campus academic and service community without having to be physically present at the University. The Virtual Campus, launched in the summer 2013, is in its earliest stages of development, and presently offers two fully online programs with plans for additional academic offerings in the near future.

With a single login credential, you can navigate through the Campus Portal which is supported by a modern network infrastructure designed to guarantee fast and dynamic access to a complete set of applications and services. From the comfort of your home, you can easily access online classes, register for classes, make online payments, check grades, explore your financial aid status, access your student email system, consult the online library, buy books and articles, collaborate with faculty and peers, consult the 24/7 Helpdesk Support Center, and have access to other numerous applications and services.

Our online programs offer flexibility for all students who are challenged by time, distance, and personal and professional responsibilities to achieve an online degree at their own pace. You can remain at home and still receive the same level of high-quality education and services. Financial Aid and scholarships are available to students who enroll in our online programs.

Which are the programs presently offered online?

Presently, two high-demand online programs are being offered by Albizu University, Miami campus:

 

1) Master in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology.

2) Master in Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Are the online programs accredited?
The online programs are part of the academic offerings of Albizu University, Miami campus, which is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

Applying to our online programs is very easy. You may select any of the following options:

Are there any financial help or scholarships?
Yes. Please consult the ‘Admissions and Financial Aid’ section of this website where you will find detailed information about financial assistance and scholarships as well as to how to apply for them. You may contact one of our representatives in the Admissions Office to explore all available options for financial assistance.
How will I get academic support?
The CAU Virtual Campus offers a platform for online education that enables students to access a complete set of applications and academic support services. A central component of the Virtual Campus is student support services. Whether you are navigating the website, the Learning Management System, or the Campus Portal, you will always have several options available for support.
Within our website, you can chat with a representative, speak with an advisor, or contact the University by phone or email. If you are inside the Student Campus Portal, you will have similar options, plus full access to our 24/7 Helpdesk Support Center where you will be able to (1) browse through an institutional knowledge base, (2) find answers to your questions via an automatic query system, (3) chat with a live representative, and, (4) open a support ticket for a call back. Once you are enrolled in specific online classes, additional support associated to the academic program, instructor, and Information Technology Department (ITS) are provided within the Learning Management System (LMS).

The Miami campus faculty involved in online education is certified by our ‘Online Teaching Certification Program (OTCP)’ which guarantees that they are trained to deliver the best practices for teaching online and thereby create a learning environment conducive to your success.

What is the Campus Portal?

The Campus Portal (SunPortal) is the single point of entry to all of our online applications and services. It is an online environment that facilitates interaction between students and the academic community without having to be physically present at the University

Through the Campus Portal, and with a single set of login credentials, you have direct access to the University’s Portal Information System, the online academic programs, the Learning Management System (LMS), and the Administrative Service Application (WebAdvisor), where you can quickly register for classes, make payments, or check grades.

In addition, users can access several other applications and services such as the 24/7 Helpdesk Support Center, the Virtual Library, the Learning Center (Atomic Learning), MS-Outlook and Student Email System (SunMail), the Tutoring/Remedial Application (Plato), the Virtual Classrooms (Adobe Connect), Google Apps and RSS Feeds, Colleague UI, the Online Bookstore, Social Media platform, and many other applications and services designed to guarantee your success in your academic journey.

There are several ways to access the Campus Portal (SunPortal), once you are admitted to the University:

(1)    By going directly to the Portal: http://sunportal.albizu.edu

(2)    By clicking on “SunPortal” on the website top header.

(3)    By selecting  “Current Student” on the website top header, and click on the SunPortal button.

(4)    By clicking on the “SunPortal” button located on the Quick Links area of this page.
