Mental Health Services
Therapy
Individual Psychotherapy
Individual therapy sessions are offered for children, adolescents, and adults. A mental health professional will help you deal with personal, behavioral, academic, or emotional problems or any situation that provokes emotional distress, with the goal of improving your quality of life.
Couples and Family Therapy
A mental health professional will help a couple and/or family work through the problems and emotional conflicts that are affecting them. The objective is to tend to the needs of each family member and to find solutions together in order to minimize tension and improve couple or family interactions.
Group Therapy
During these sessions, specific issues and concerns that provoke emotional distress will be identified and worked on as a group. We seek to increase the support network of participants and to help them manage their problems collectively.
Therapy for Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Abuse Survivors
In individual sessions, we seek to emotionally heal people who have experienced any type of physical, psychological, or sexual assault. We will sensitively offer professional support and guidance in order to treat the psychological, emotional, and behavioral effects of these assaults.
Testing
Psychometric, Psychoeducational, Psychological, and Neuropsychological Testing
A variety of specialized tests are administered individually to explore intelligence, learning disabilities, memory complications, personality, and emotional difficulties.

Therapy
Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy
Services are offered to treat children or adolescents under the age of 17 with communication, speech, and language disorders. The treatment is focused on the following areas, among others, according to the capabilities identified during evaluation and prognosis: expressive language, language comprehension, functional communication, reading and writing, speech sound production, oral motor skills, and interpersonal interaction.
Common conditions in children that can be treated by our specialists include: speech and language development, academic issues, reading and writing issues, auditory processing issues, auditory/deaf issues, aural rehabilitation, phonology/articulation disorders, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, stuttering, voice disorders, eating and/or swallowing problems, and premature birth.
Adult Speech and Language Therapy
Speech, language, and/or swallowing treatment is provided for adults or seniors who have experienced a stroke, cerebral trauma, larynx cancer, dementia, or voice loss. The treatment is focused on the following areas, among others, according to the capabilities identified during evaluation and prognosis: functional communication, speech sound production, oral motor skills, expressive language, language comprehension, cognitive (memory) rehabilitation, and interpersonal interaction.
Common conditions in adults and seniors that can be treated by our specialists include: articulation or speech problems, cognitive rehabilitation, aphasia, problems in understanding language, dysarthria, apraxia, dysphagia, stuttering, dementia, frequent pneumonia, and voice disorders. If you have suffered a stroke, a traumatic accident, a laryngectomy, or anything else that has changed your ability to speak, use, and understand language and/or to swallow, you may benefit from our services.
Testing
Pediatric Development Screening Test
This is an interdisciplinary screening test for children from birth to 5 years of age. It is a fast and effective way of determining if motor, cognitive, socioemotional, communication, self-help, eating, and hearing skills are within “average” parameters. The screening test for each area takes about 10 minutes and is used to identify conditions that could require a formal evaluation by a speech-language pathologist, audiologist, or psychologist; a referral to a different specialization; or monitoring for a specific period of time.
Pediatric Speech, Language, Hearing, and Dysphagia Screening Test
This is a fast and effective way of determining if a child’s communication, reading, writing, hearing, and eating skills are within “average” parameters. Each area’s screening test takes about 15 minutes and is used to identify conditions that could require a formal speech, language, hearing, or eating evaluation; a referral to a different specialization; or monitoring for a specific period of time.

This is a more formal, in-depth approach to obtaining information regarding a child’s speech, language, and eating skills. Formal and informal tests are administered to determine strengths and areas of need in order to compare them to other children of the same age. The evaluation consists of an interview to obtain the child’s history, a test result analysis, and the parent’s input. A written report is prepared that includes information from the interview, test results, strengths, areas of need, a diagnostic impression, and recommendations.
Adult Speech and Language Evaluation
This is a more formal, in-depth approach to obtaining information regarding an adult’s speech, language, and swallowing skills. Formal and informal tests are administered to determine strengths, areas of need, and functional skills. The evaluation consists of an interview to obtain the individual’s history and a test result analysis. A written report is prepared that includes information from the interview, test results, strengths, areas of need, a diagnostic impression, and recommendations.
Swallowing/Dysphagia Disorder Evaluation and Treatment
This consists of bedside evaluation and treatment of disorders in eating and swallowing processes.
Audiology Evaluation
Hearing levels and responses to sounds are evaluated.
Auditory Processing Evaluation
Auditory functions are examined, along with discrimination, attention, memory, and auditory association capabilities.
